In his best-seller book Eat Right For Your Type, Dr. D’Amato teaches people on eating according to your body type. I’ve researched this myself and I find out that a lot of websites are declaring that there are a lot serious misinformation about what the good Dr. D’Amato claims.  I personally believe that any health idea and article should be back up by science-based evidence. Is there really evidence for adjusting diet in accordance with the body type?

In fact, to the best of my knowledge there is zero evidence that “eating right for your blood type” has anything to do with improving fat loss or body composition.

I remember reading something about a friend wrote in a blog years ago when he was asked the same question on whether his program would work if you had a certain blood type.

My friend answered back, “Sure! If your blood type is red, the program will work for you!”

Everybody get a good chuckle out of that matter-of-fact reply.

Well… I guess unless you’re from a distant planet in some other galaxy, you’re in luck!

Seriously, if anyone will send me published and peer-reviewed research proving otherwise, I will be happy to post the information and rectify this statement… but for the meantime there’s no scientific mechanism or even a rationale for how or why your blood type would affect a fat loss regimen.
